Castle View announces a programme of fascinating talks this autumn

CASTLE View in Windsor has announced a programme of talks for the autumn with an eye to shorter days, longer evenings and the clocks going back.

Open to all, and designed to be of particular interest to those living in or near Windsor, the talks will embrace a wide range of topics, and starting this week will generally take place on the second Thursday of each month until December.

September 8 – A history of the Theatre Royal Windsor by development manager Jackie Bryans.

October 6 – Aviation and the role of air traffic control by pilot and aviation editor David Learmount.

November 10 – Reporting on the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 9/11 Twin Towers disaster by former ITV and Sky News journalist and presenter Linda Duberley.

December 8 – Subject and speaker to be confirmed.

Village manager Lisa Fisher said: “With autumn just around the corner and the evenings about to get longer, we wanted to throw the doors open to everyone in and around Windsor to come and listen to some interesting speakers who have all had interesting careers.

“It’s a convivial opportunity to meet like-minded people and enjoy a glass of wine afterwards.”

Each talk will be held in the Sky Lounge at Castle View.  Commencing at 5pm and with time for questions, talks will last approximately an hour and cost £5 per person including a glass of wine afterwards.

There is also the option to stay and enjoy a pre-booked dinner in the restaurant at a cost of £10 per person for lasagne or similar, dessert and a glass of wine.
