Home welcomes a four-legged friend

RESIDENTS at Heatherfield Nursing Home (part of the Holmes Care Group) in Armadale, West Lothian were surprised by a somewhat unusual visitor.

Milo, a one-year-old miniature Shetland pony, arrived for a day of fun and instantly charmed all the residents. He trotted from room to room, bringing a smile to everyone’s faces, especially because of the little shoes he wore.

He was dressed in specially festive attire, with gold tinsel draped around his neck and a Santa hat on his head.

Heatherfield and other Holmes Care Group homes have extensive activities programmes which includes pet therapy. Visits from animals have been proven to improve wellbeing and socialisation, and are a great way to fill the day with excitement.
