Care home hosts St Andrew’s Day bash

CELEBRATIONS were in full swing at an Inverclyde care home as St Andrews Day was celebrated with much-loved Scottish traditions.

Larkfield View in Greenock kicked the week off by preparing the home for the much-anticipated party. Residents painted Scottish flags by hand and proudly displayed them on the walls, setting the atmosphere for the night’s activities.

Sharon Kelly, activities co-ordinator at Larkfield View, said: “Organising events like this is an integral part of our work here. Celebrating national holidays is really important to a lot of our residents, and we had an absolute blast dancing the night away.”

Residents enjoyed a Scottish-themed menu for the night, filling themselves up on haggis. Later in the evening a local entertainer donned his kilt for an evening of bagpipes, singing and dancing.
