Residents and staff to welcome veterans to open days

A SURBITON care home is opening its doors and showcasing the person-centred care it provides in open days taking place in February and March.

The open days are for veterans and their partners, as well as an accompanying relative or friend.

Royal Star & Garter Surbiton is welcoming potential residents to the home on February 24 and March 24, where they will meet current residents, staff and relatives.

Visitors will be given a snapshot of everyday life at the home. They will be taken on a tour by residents, who will provide insight into what life is like living there. The tour will include the in-house physiotherapy room and hair salon, garden, activities room and lounges.

There will also be arts and crafts, music, gardening and cooking activities for visitors to join in with or simply watch. Visitors are welcome to chat to staff over a cuppa and a slice of cake.

The open days take place from 2pm to 4pm. Those wishing to attend are asked to register their interest online through Eventbrite, with places limited to two per booking.
