SINGERS from three New Forest care homes ‘took over’ the garden of a community art centre to stage an afternoon concert.
Residents from Colten Care’s specialist dementia home Linden House were in fine voice along with friends from fellow Lymington home Court Lodge and Kingfishers in New Milton.
The venue was the Spudworks arts hub in Sway with the event attracting an audience of families, community visitors and artists from the centre.
Leading the singing and musical direction, guitar in hand, was the operator’s music and arts partner Fiona Pritchard.
She said: “It was brilliant for our residents to come together and be out in the community sharing their love of music and songs.
“Performing is such a powerful way to support mental wellbeing and connect with other people.
“Our residents just love to sing and it was so enjoyable to do that outside in the fresh air and in such beautiful grounds.”
The concert featured a setlist of popular songs including Messing About On The River, Rod Stewart’s Sailing and Abba’s I Have A Dream.
After the songs, the performers and audience were treated to afternoon tea and cakes provided by Colten Care.
