Surrey care home opens its doors after extensive refurbishment

A LUXURY Surrey care home welcomed the public for an exclusive tour of its newly refurbished facilities.

CHD Living’s Brownscombe Care Residences opened its doors to the public with a football-themed open day – coinciding with the Lionesses making it to the World Cup final.

Family, friends and health and social care professionals had the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art enhancements that the care home has made in recent months.

Guests had an opportunity to see the luxury facilities that the residents of Brownscombe have access to, including a cinema, putting green and hair and nail salon, alongside three acres of landscaped gardens.

A unique touch to the open day was the staff’s ‘team kit’ attire – custom-designed shirts featuring a football-themed logo, a design the residents helped to choose. This collaborative effort emphasises the care home’s desire to increase resident engagement and partnership in shaping the home’s culture.

Under the guidance of the head chef, the Brownscombe team also prepared an array of dishes for all dietary requirements. From sandwiches, cakes, and sugar-free treats, to a full BBQ with burgers, hot dogs and kebabs.

The staff even took the reins behind the open bar, crafting a mixture of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Accompanied by a live band, the open day filled the home with a vibrant atmosphere that left a lasting impression on all who attended.
