RADIS Community Care is set to host a free wellbeing event at its Worcestershire based extra care service, Cherry Orchard House.
Open to the local community, the wellbeing event will be held on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
With free entry, the event will instead, be accepting donations which will go to the operator’s nominated charities for 2024; Mind and Age UK.
Cherry Orchard House provides 52 apartments, with Radis care workers supporting individuals who live there, including people living with dementia, learning disabilities and autism.
Lorna Regan, national wellbeing lead for Radis Community Care, said: “It’s vital that we share the knowledge we have and utilise our industry contacts to inform and educate our residents, the local communities and families – and we hope our health and wellbeing event will do just that.
“We strive to give back to the community in every way that we can, and this is just the beginning.”
The event will include a number of talks from industry professionals, including a presentation from the Royal College for the Blind who will also be bringing along a number of assistance dogs.
Also in attendance will be a registered GP, who will be providing a talk focusing on anxiety and depression, and will be offering some tips on how to cope with mental health issues.
The local police and Crimestoppers will also be attending the event, along with Radis nurse and wellbeing advisor for Cherry Orchard House, Chloe Hammond, who works with the help and support of an assistance dog.
Radis’ national activities lead Kris Oughton will also be providing entertainment throughout the day, hosting fun and inclusive games for all to enjoy, such as ‘wiggle and giggle’.
