Austin Rose, part of the Macc Care Group, was honoured with two prestigious awards at the recent event, including the ‘IPC Champion of Champions Highly Commended Award 2024’.

Hosted by Birmingham Community Healthcare at The Saffron Centre, the awards recognise and showcase the work of healthcare professionals at the very top levels of IPC practice.

Home Manager Pauline Vernon said: “This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection, prevention and control.

“Our dedicated team members, Bal and Shaunna, have been exemplary in their roles, consistently supporting and promoting excellence in IPC.

“Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off, showcasing their commitment to the well-being and safety of our residents and staff.”

IPC Champions is a programme run in partnership between Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham City Council. The aim of the scheme is to create roles for care staff enthusiastic about safe infection prevention and control, who constantly strive to protect residents/service users, staff and visitors from infection.
