RESIDENTS at Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care Home in Houghton-le-Spring proved they were budding Picassos, showcasing their original artworks in a special fundraiser exhibition organised for Macmillan Coffee Morning.
And these masterpieces are on display at one of the region’s biggest seasonal celebrations, Houghton Feast, which is on now until Sunday.
Houghton Feast has been taking place annually for over 800 years. This nine-day celebration of local culture and talent features an ox roast, stilt walking, a community parade, a fireworks display and now the artwork of the residents.
The exhibition, alongside other local artists, can be found on display at Houghton Methodist Church.
The initial art showing was used as a small fundraiser for the Macmillan Coffee Morning initiative, raising £100 in the process.
