MILLCROFT care home resident Pat Tuckley was thrilled to have been announced the winner of HC-One’s Seasons Greetings Card Competition.
The competition encourages residents to channel their artistic talents to design the operator’s official festive card, which all care home staff and residents are able to send to their families and friends.
Pat, 88, who moved to Millcroft in August 2023, fell in love with art after joining a weekly group at her local church, where her and her friends would meet every Tuesday evening to create ‘whatever they fancied’.
Whilst her favourite animals to paint are mice, animal-lover Pat chose a pair of robins for her greetings card design, and couldn’t believe it when she was crowned the winner of the competition.
Home manager Lyndsay Sard said: “Pat is such a talented lady, we’re always so impressed by her artwork, a lot of which she has displayed in her room.
“We’re so excited to be able to send Pat’s cards to people in the local community – it’s sure to bring some holiday cheer.”
