HC-ONE’S Defoe Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, Country Durham, welcomed young children from a local nursery for an intergenerational Christmas craft day filled with fun activities.
The residents and children enjoyed creating Christmas wreaths together. They also produced drawings of Santa and Christmas trees at the care home that offers residential and nursing care.
The nursery children from St Oswald’s Nursery enjoyed engaging in the Christmas-themed craft visit. The residents proudly showed the young children around the home, where they all got into the festive spirit by enjoying the Christmas decorations which made it a magical experience.
Manager Sarah Davies said: “The relationships the residents and the children have is wonderful to see. The residents and children have built friendships up between them and you can really see the bond they have created.”
