apetito’s donation supports dementia care in Wiltshire

apetito has made a significant donation of over £17,600 to Wiltshire-based charity, Alzheimer’s Support.

The business has held a valued partnership with Alzheimer’s Support since 2016, and this donation further shows its commitment to supporting the vital work of the charity in helping individuals living with dementia and their carers across Wiltshire.

Lee Sheppard, director of corporate affairs, policy and Sustainability at apetito, said: “This partnership is very important to us at apetito due to our aligned values and a joint passion and commitment to supporting those living with dementia, and their carers to live independent and fulfilling lives.”

Over the past year, apetito has established a dedicated Social Value Committee consisting of passionate staff members from all corners of the business.

This group aims to continue driving impactful change through this long-standing charity partnership, whilst reinvigorating fundraising efforts with fresh ideas – further fostering a culture of social responsibility throughout the business.

Staff members have recently raised money through various activities such as a company-wide step count challenge, an internal football tournament and Christmas jumper day, as well as a group of six colleagues taking on the Bath Half Marathon.

Alongside these initiatives, the business has also continued collecting donations at its monthly Sunday Lunch Club held for residents aged 65+ in the local area.

Sarah Marriott, CEO of Alzheimer’s Support, added: “We really value the ongoing partnership with apetito and appreciate this generous donation and all the hard work that has gone in to raising the money. It’s amazing to see how enthusiastic the staff are in helping us to make a real difference to the lives of those with dementia.

“This money will support many of our essential services, including our day clubs across Wiltshire which provide respite to individuals living with dementia and promotes independence for those living at home.”
