A ROMSEY care home celebrated its 20th year with a special event bringing together residents, their families, staff and members of the community.
Among the guests at Marie Louise House was Councillor Gordon Bailey, Mayor of Test Valley, who spent time chatting with residents and staff.
Music was supplied by Mike Sideway Entertainment, helping guests and the Mayor get into the dancing mood. There were also games and refreshments.
Amy Francis, activities coordinator at Marie Louise House, said: “It was so lovely seeing everyone come together to make this special occasion.
“It means so much to us all here to have such support from the community and families of our residents. It’s moments like this which make this job feel so rewarding.”
Special gifts were presented to staff members who have shown dedication and ambition in making the care home special to all, including Mair Williams.
Mair is executive director of community and complex care at Healthcare Management Trust, which runs Marie Louise House, and is returning after 37 years’ service to the Trust. She was involved in the development of Marie Louise House 20 years ago.
Andrea Barker, area manager at Healthcare Management Trust, added: “I am beyond proud of everyone involved in marking this day.
“We have come so far over the years, and coming together to mark this celebration is a testament to the hard work of the whole team. We have built something very special here. Personally, I am proud and grateful to be part of something so magical.”
