Team and residents celebrate glowing report

THE team, residents and loved ones from a Sanctuary Care home in Invergordon are celebrating the home’s glowing Care Inspectorate report.

Mull Hall has received a Good in every area of the report from the independent health and social care regulator, following an unannounced inspection, with a stand-out Very Good for how well the team supports the wellbeing of their residents.

The report highlighted how the team “encouraged and promoted people to be mobile and active” revealing how “staff continued to provide a range of different activities,” with residents “choosing what they wished to get involved with and complimenting the opportunities they had.”

There was excellent feedback for the home-cooked meals, with residents describing them as “delicious and nutritious”.

Manager at the not-for-profit home, Lorna McDonald, said: “We were delighted with our report, which is a true testament to our fantastic team and their passion for providing exceptional standards of care and enriching the lives of our residents each and every day.

“I am particularly pleased that it highlighted how well we support our residents to enjoy such a variety of wonderful experiences. This is something we are absolutely dedicated to – supporting our residents to do the things they love to do, as well as trying new experiences, to live life to the full.”

Inspectors also praised the way the leadership and staffing team, which they also rated as Good, treated the residents with such “kindness, dignity and respect”, with a focus on continually reviewing residents’ experiences and self-evaluation.

Another stand-out area was the “warm, comfortable and welcoming environment” within the home, with residents having choice over how and where they spent their time, with “good access to outdoor spaces”, and personalised bedrooms.
