Home celebrates three decades of care

RESIDENTS, their loved ones and staff from a Sanctuary Care home in Gateshead recently held a community party to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Dovecote Residential Care Home in High Spen, Rowlands Gill, was filled with live music and laughter for the joyous celebrations, with guest of honour, Councillor Freda Geddes, Mayor of Gateshead, cutting the celebration cake.

Activities coordinator at the not-for-profit home, Chloe Bell, who organised the event, said: “Everybody loved it – the residents and their families had a wonderful time and are still talking about it – they asked if we could do it every week. Every member of the fantastic team here worked together to make the day really special.”

To celebrate the occasion there was live music from singer Sam Naylor, who got everyone up dancing.

The home was decked to impress and the kitchen team put on a delicious buffet.
