Home celebrates new Garden Rooms and national accreditation

THE Mill House Care Home in Kington officially unveiled its eight new luxury Garden Rooms at a

festive launch event, welcoming local families, professionals and community guests for an afternoon of celebration, music and togetherness.

The Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Dr Matt Lamb, formally marked the occasion by cutting the

ribbon, before joining guests on guided tours of the new Garden Rooms.

Visitors enjoyed the opportunity to explore the light-filled, private spaces, which have been thoughtfully

created to offer residents greater independence, comfort and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, live music was provided by Heather, who performed a selection of much-loved festive classics, creating a joyful backdrop for residents and guests alike.

A festive buffet of savoury and sweet treats was also enjoyed throughout the

afternoon.

Joanne Carroll, proprietor of The Mill House Care Home, said: “This project has been two years in the making, and what I’m most proud of is how our incredible team has continued to deliver outstanding, consistent care throughout that entire time. I cannot thank them enough.

“I would also like to thank my children, Johnathan and Georgina, for their unwavering support — what we have created here has been a dream of mine for many years.

“To now be celebrating the opening of our new Garden Rooms, alongside achieving the highest possible three-star accreditation — an honour shared by only three other care homes in the UK — is a truly special moment for The Mill House family.”
