Homes donate presents at Christmas

ANCHOR care homes have been spreading festive cheer this Christmas by donating toys to local children’s hospitals.

Care colleagues from Glenvale Park n Wellingborough visited Kettering General Hospital’s Skylark Ward on Christmas Eve to give the children presents.

The presents were donated by visitors to the care home, as well as children, parents and staff at Glenvale Church of England Primary School.

Home manager Carley Calder said: “We were delighted to be able to drop off presents to the children spending Christmas in hospital.

“A thank you must go to all our visitors who kindly donated presents, including the wonderful children, parents and staff of Glenvale School who raised funds to buy toys.”

At The Manor House Roundhay care home in Leeds, residents got involved by wrapping up presents ahead of Christmas.

These were then delivered by care colleagues at the home to Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Deputy manager Sharna Neal added: “Our residents loved being able to support the local community and make a difference to people’s lives during the festive period.”
