Home invites local community to connect over a cuppa

HARTFORD Court in Cramlington is inviting members of the local community to come together for conversation and companionship as part of the Chatty Café Scheme.

The HC-One operated care home hosts a Chatter and Natter table every Wednesday between 11am and 12.30pm, offering a relaxed and welcoming space for people of all ages to stop by, enjoy a cup of tea and share a chat.

Each session is hosted by a friendly volunteer, helping to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included.

The initiative aims to tackle loneliness and social isolation by encouraging simple, meaningful conversations. Visitors are welcome to stay for as little as five minutes or for as long as they’re enjoying the conversation.

Home manager Melanie Walton said: “Sometimes all it takes is a cup of tea and a friendly conversation to make someone feel connected. Our Chatter and Natter table is open to everyone in the community, whether you’re popping in for a quick chat or staying a little longer.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming local people into the home and helping to create new friendships.”
