AS THE care sector faces rising demand, workforce shortages and increasing regulatory pressure, investing in people is essential.
High-quality care depends on skilled, confident and supported staff and continuous learning underpins it all.
For more than a decade, the Princess Royal Training Awards have recognised organisations that place workforce development at the heart of their success.
In care, that commitment delivers measurable impact. Recent recipients such as Carefound Home Care and Lifeways Group show how targeted training programmes strengthen leadership, improve staff wellbeing and build resilient teams, leading to improved outcomes for those in their care.
The Awards are widely regarded as a mark of excellence, with benefits that extend well beyond recognition.
The 2025 Impact Report found that 74 per cent of Award recipients said achieving the Award helped them better demonstrate the value of learning and development to internal stakeholders.
A further 69 per cent reported that the high standard of the Award led to increased investment in L&D, whilst 91 per cent felt it strengthened their organisation’s commitment to social value.
Importantly, the Awards also now recognise organisations delivering international programmes, where the same programme is delivered in the UK or Ireland, reflecting the global relevance of effective workforce development in care.
Applicants are supported throughout the process, with clear guidance and the opportunity to receive Assessor feedback on draft applications submitted by February 13. This culture of support continues for Award recipients, who join a community of over 700 L&D leaders.
Applications for the 2026 Awards are now open and close on March 20.
