FAIRWOOD Fields was a double winner at the annual Pontefract Civic Society Awards, taking home both the Commercial/Civic and the Environmental Sustainability categories.
The awards ceremony was held at Pontefract Town Hall and recognised excellence in design, community contribution, and sustainability within the local built environment.
The judges commended Fairwood Fields for its outstanding architectural and civic contribution, noting that it was “recognised for how effectively it meets complex user needs at scale.”
General manager Lynn Robinson said, “We are incredibly proud to receive these awards from Pontefract Civic Society.
“They reflect the dedication of everyone involved in creating a home that not only supports residents with complex needs but also contributes positively to the local community and environment.”
Beyond its primary role as a residential care facility, the building was praised for offering high-quality shared spaces and creating a welcoming environment for residents, families and the wider community.
Pontefract Civic Society further highlighted the development’s thoughtful design, citing the clarity of its layout, the durability of materials used, and the positive impact the building has had on its surroundings.
