Provider commits to significant wage rises for care assistants

BLUEBIRD Care’s offices in Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond and Twickenham and Westminster and City of London have announced a pay rise for all of their care assistants.

The pay rises will begin at 12 per cent and go as high as 18 per cent in response to the work of the team.

All franchises are owned by managing director Peter Slough, responsible for achieving the only triple rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

He said: “We are significantly investing in our care assistants to ensure they are rewarded with a meaningful improvement to their pay. We hope this new rate attracts and retains first-rate team members.

“That, in turn, will help us to continue providing the highest quality of care to our wonderful customers across the city.”

The pay rise will apply to every member of staff who has passed their three-month probation period and is in addition to other staff benefits, including health care, paid training, staff of the year prizes, long service dinners and discounts from retailers.
