THE bowling green at Buckshaw Retirement Village is currently an incredible sight of colour and creativity this Easter after children from Buckshaw Trinity Church of England and Methodist Primary School joined residents who live at The Court within the village for a fun-filled intergenerational event.
The children, with their enthusiasm and brushes in hand, transformed the green into an Easter egg masterpiece.
Captured from above, drone images reveal the scale and beauty of their creation. The egg design which was painted on the green symbolises the beginning of spring and the shared happiness of the Easter season.
Sian Mann, general manager at The Court, which is an independent living community situated within Buckshaw Retirement Village, owned and managed by HICA Group, said: “It was wonderful to witness the different generations come together to create this wonderful Easter project.
“Activities like these are essential for developing strong, close-knit communities, with research highlighting the mental health benefits such interactions bring to all.”
Ian Sarginson, the priest at Buckshaw Village Church, joined the young artists, helping to guide their hands as they brought the Easter vision to life. The day also included an Easter egg hunt with the residents hiding treats for the children to find.
Sian added: “We hope the drone photos capture the essence of what was a truly memorable day for everyone involved.
“The sight of our bowling green transformed into an Easter celebration is one for the history books of our village.”
