RESIDENTS at Woodbury Manor in Enfield have been embracing world culture with a Chinese New Year celebration.
Organised by care home staff, the special day saw residents experience traditional Chinese dances and tuck into Asian culinary delicacies, all from the comfort of the care home’s lounge. There was even a chance for everyone to dress up as the symbolic Chinese dragon.
Registered manager Valentine Ogundipe said: “Promoting engagement with different cultures is enriching for our residents in several ways.
“It nurtures a sense of openness and tolerance, encouraging individuals to appreciate diversity and learn from others’ perspectives, and it broadens their horizons, stimulating curiosity and expanding their knowledge base.
“Participating in cultural activities also provides an opportunity for social interaction and connection, which essential for their overall wellbeing. It’s been fantastic to see how much fun everyone had.”
