THE Mayor of Elmbridge has formally marked the name change of a Thames Ditton care home during an event attended by members of the local community.
Home of Compassion, part of the Aria Care Group, has been renamed Thames View as a nod to its location and to better reflect its welcoming and engaging environment.
During the event the Mayor and Mayoress of Elmbridge, Councillor Richard Williams and Agenieszka Williams, were joined by representatives from Crossroads Care Surrey alongside members of local organisations and the community at the home to celebrate its new title.
The name Thames View was officially unveiled with new signage around the home and its grounds. On the day the home hosted a special afternoon tea for residents and their families, prepared by its onsite chefs.
They were entertained with music performed by a string quartet.
Paul Fenech, general manager at Thames View, said: “Our residents have really embraced the name change and thoroughly enjoyed their special afternoon tea accompanied by the string quartet – our chefs really outdid themselves.
“It was wonderful to celebrate the day with everyone and we are so excited for this new chapter. ‘Thames View’ feels much more reflective of life at the home and although the name has changed, the heartfelt care and compassion remain the same.”
