KIND-hearted residents and staff at a Poole dementia care home have done their bit to help families in need over Christmas.
Five residents and three team members from Colten Care’s The Aldbury visited the Poole Food Bank+ satellite hub at St Clement’s Church in Parkstone to hand in dried and tinned foods and toiletry items they had collected in a campaign of help.
To add an extra touch of seasonal cheer to their minibus trip, the party dressed up as Christmas elves.
They were welcomed by Ministry colleagues the Reverends Lerys Campbell, Mo Willis and Lynn Bowerman.
Lerys and Mo were familiar faces to the party of visitors as they have been holding regular services at The Aldbury for the past two years.
After the donated items were handed over, hosts and visitors chatted over tea and homemade cakes and mince pies.
Resident Terry Pattison was joined on the visit by fellow residents from The Aldbury Joyce Holden, Jeanette Macklin, Jean Mitchell and Alan Larcombe.
Companionship Team member Melissa Siat, one of the staff on the trip, said: “It was a very interesting day, with the donations warmly welcomed and our residents enjoying the opportunity to show support for a great cause in our local area.”
