Group celebrates its nursing staff on International Nurses Day

MARIA Mallaband Care Group has paid tribute to the incredible work of its 750 qualified nurses – all of whom play an integral role in the care and wellbeing of those living in its homes across the UK.

May 12th marked the 49th annual International Nurses Day when nurses around the globe are celebrated for the incredible work they do in every nursing field.

At MMCG every nurse was presented with a gift from the group, and each home was also invited to create special events and tributes for their own team of nurses.

There was an outpouring of appreciation, with homes organising presentations, treats and parties and floral displays, while those living in the homes offered handmade cards, gifts and heartfelt words of thanks.

It was also a lovely opportunity for former nurses now living in MMCG homes to reminisce on their years of service.

MMCG chief nursing officer Anna Masheter said: “It is so important to me that all our amazing nurses are recognised for their hard work, dedication, and service to those we care for.

“So we love to embrace International Nurses Day and celebrate our nurses as they continue to put those in their care first and strive to be the best they can be.”
