CHRIS Carter, owner of Home Instead Norwich, has won an England Director of the Year Award from the Institute of Directors, which hosts an annual ceremony recognising the finest leadership talent across all sectors and celebrates directors that seek to build a better world through business.
Winning the People Director of the Year Award, Chris was credited for empowering his home care company team to progress in their careers and creating an environment inclusive of all.
It was judged according to the IoD’s rigorous standards for good corporate governance, ethical leadership, and professional excellence. Chris was shortlisted alongside directors from other high profile companies, including HSBC Life and Blue Sky HR Consultancy.
Chris said: “I’m proud of the many people who have been part of my team over the years. I’ve had the chance to support their professional growth, and that along with their dedication and hard work has helped them achieve things they never thought possible when starting their journeys.
“I’d like to thank my team who are so committed to making a positive difference in the lives of their colleagues, clients and the local community. I’d also like to thank the coaches and mentors who have helped me grow so much over the years, and my wife who is always patient, encouraging and supportive.”
Chris plays an active role in the community, having delivered workshops highlighting how we can be more accommodating of older people.
