Home celebrates local talent in Christmas card competition

THE Hawthorns Clevedon has brought festive cheer to the community with its annual Christmas card competition, inviting entries from primary schools across the area.

The competition received a wonderful response, with lots of colourful and creative designs submitted by local children.

Residents at the Hawthorns Clevedon enjoyed viewing the entries and voting for their favourite, making the event a true celebration of community spirit.

Grace Barker from Mary Elton Primary School created the winning design, whose festive artwork captured the hearts of residents. Grace’s card has now been professionally printed as the Hawthorns Clevedon Christmas card for 2025.

During a special presentation, Aggie Jasinski, client liaison manager at the Hawthorns Clevedon, awarded Grace her prize and presented a £250 donation cheque to Mary Elton Primary School, which headmaster Tom Newell accepted.

Aggie said: “We are delighted to support our local schools and proud to see such creativity from their pupils. Grace’s design will bring joy to our residents, families, and the wider community this Christmas.”

The competition not only showcased the artistic talent of Clevedon’s young people but also strengthened the bond between the retirement village and local community.
