Home collaborates with inclusive fitness provider to celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day

A NORTHAMPTONSHIRE care home collaborated with an inclusive fitness provider to celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day  – showcasing that fitness can be enjoyed by everyone, irrespective of age.

Meadow View, a branch of Wellbeing Care that provides nursing, residential and respite care, recently collaborated with Gfitness to host a fun workout session for residents in celebration of National Senior Health and Fitness Day.

Registered manager Joy Henshaw said: “We believe physical fitness should be enjoyed by everyone, which is why it was imperative we celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day.

“We decided to reach out to Gfitness, the largest provider of exercise services to the UK care sector, to see if they could help us celebrate by providing a fun and interactive fitness session for our residents.”

“The support we received was fantastic – Mike provided a 30-minute session for our residents, who thoroughly enjoyed the class and were beaming for the entire day afterwards.”

“After the success of the Gfitness workout we are now looking to instate fitness initiatives comprising light movement across our other homes to boost residents’ physical and mental wellbeing.”

Care residents at Meadow View participated in the 30-minute exercise class led by instructor Mike Smith – with further fitness initiatives set to be rolled out across Wellbeing Care’s services.
