Home hosts breakfast for local emergency services workers

THE Burroughs care home in West Drayton, Hillingdon hosted a community event to thank local emergency service workers, including the ambulance service, police and fire brigade, with an impressive spread of sweet treats and pastries on offer.

The turnout was fantastic, with emergency service teams taking time out of their busy schedules to join residents and staff.

One police officer even rolled up his sleeves to help with the washing up, much to the delight of everyone in attendance and the very thankful kitchen staff.

Both the home and the workers look forward to these monthly events and this act of kindness came from a long-standing bond built by the home’s activities co-ordinator Alison Belghar.

The local fire brigade helped build and furnish its new tearoom and outdoor area which was named “The Red Watch” in honour of support given by the fire services.

Home manager Loreen McGeoghan said: “We are very thankful for all the work our emergency services do, and we love to make them feel appreciated.

“A big thank you to the wonderful Alison for organising such an amazing event. We can’t wait to welcome all our friends back next month.”
