Home hosts singing sessions for people with dementia

HC-ONE Wales’s Parklands Care Home in Caerphilly is supporting a series of inclusive singing and music get-togethers designed for people living with dementia and their carers, helping to bring together care homes and the wider community.

In partnership with Inside Out Cymru, the facility will be hosting relaxed and welcoming singing and music sessions at Bedwas Workmen’s Hall. The sessions aim to provide a safe, supportive space where people can enjoy music, connect with others, and build friendships in a friendly and inclusive environment.

These sessions offer an opportunity for individuals and their families to come together, enjoy an hour of shared activity, and feel part of their local community.

Amy Campbell, home manager at Parklands Care Home, said: “These singing sessions are a wonderful way to bring people together. They provide a safe and welcoming space where our residents, their families, and the local community can enjoy music, share smiles, and maybe even make new friends.

“We’re really excited to see people coming along and taking part.”

The venue offers full wheelchair access and accessible restrooms, and free refreshments will be available for all attendees.

The singing and music sessions will take place from 2pm to 3pm on January 15 and 29, February 12 and 26 and March 12 and 26. Everyone is welcome to attend.
