Home Instead’s Martin Jones made MBE

HOME Instead’s CEO UK and International, Martin Jones, has been awarded an MBE in the 2023 New Year Honours for services to older people.

Martin’s introduction to the care sector was through his father who needed support due to frailty in old age. Through this experience Martin came to understand the importance of home care and the positive impact it could have on families like his.

Shortly after, Martin joined Home Instead, initially as chief operating officer in 2011. He went on to be managing director and then CEO – overseeing the company’s 245 franchise offices, delivering care to more than 16,000 clients.

Since joining the sector, Martin has been a keen advocate of home care and its role within the health and social care ecosystem which allows older people to remain in their own homes for longer than would otherwise be possible.

He has also championed the role of care workers, helping to attract more people to consider a career in care.

Martin has taken on a number of non-exec and Trustee roles which have enabled him to build strong links to the Department of Health and Social Security, Skills for Care and the International Longevity Centre, to name but a few.
