PRESTBURY Beaumont care home in Macclesfield has launched an appeal to ensure one of its residents reaches her 102nd birthday in style.
Margaret Harrison will be 102 on January 26, and the care home is asking for the help of the local community to ensure she has 102 cards to help her celebrate her special day.
Sophie Kay, general manager of Prestbury Beaumont, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone.
“Margaret is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell about her dancing days, and we look forward to hearing many more.”
Margaret will be joined by staff, family, friends and other residents as she enjoys a champagne reception held at the home and a special birthday cake to mark the occasion made by the home’s head chef Nicky.
Margaret was a professional ballroom dancer who took part in and won many different championships over the years. Her room at Prestbury Beaumont is filled with trophies from her dancing days.
Margaret spent a great deal of her life performing in shows and competing at different championships before she hung up her dancing shoes relatively recently. She is proud of the fact that she could still do the splits well into her 90s.
Prestbury Beaumont is seeking cards from all across the UK and potentially further afield to celebrate Margaret and everything she has achieved.
Cards should be sent to:
