DOVE Court in Wisbech, part of the Larchwood Care group, has joined forces with Nurseplus staffing agency to lend ongoing support to the Ferry Project – a local social enterprise and registered charity that offers emergency accommodation and long-term assistance to homeless and vulnerable individuals across the Fenland area.
Staff, residents and their families rallied together to collect and donate essential items including toiletries, dried food, hats, scarves and gloves.
This partnership follows a successful joint initiative to support The Little Angels and Scholars Charity School, which serves children in Tabang, Plaridel and Bulacan.
Home manager Nicole Thompson was deeply moved during a recent visit and decided to extend the home’s charitable efforts.
“It was incredibly humbling to see the impact such simple donations can have and the life-changing services the Ferry Project offers,” she said. “Our residents and their families were so generous, and we are now adding clothing to the next collection to help even further.”
Founded in 1998 by members of Wisbech Churches Together, the charity has helped nearly 3,000 people since its inception.
“We’re proud to be supporting such a vital local cause,” Nicole added. “The Ferry Project does incredible work for people who are experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
“We want Dove Court to play an active part in helping them rebuild and find hope.”
