A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE care home marked Professional Care Workers’ Week with an event dedicated to the mental wellbeing of its staff.
Wren Hall, a specialist dementia care nursing home in Selston, held a dedicated Mental Wellbeing Day for its staff, encouraging some downtime during their busy day.
Demonstrating the home’s ongoing commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of those on the front lines of care, the wellbeing day featured nutritious refreshments and moments for staff to pause and rejuvenate.
Wren Hall organised a selection of fresh fruit, wholesome foods, and even indulgent brownies, emphasising the importance of balance. Staff were encouraged to take time for themselves, enjoy the treats, and prioritise their mental health throughout the day.
Managing director Anita Astle MBE said: “Our care workers are the backbone of everything we do here at Wren Hall. Their compassion and resilience are remarkable, and it’s vital that we support their mental health as much as they support our family members.
“Professional Care Workers’ Week is a wonderful opportunity for us to not only thank them but to ensure they know how valued they are.”
Professional Care Workers’ Week is a national event dedicated to raising awareness of the vital work done by care staff across the UK, and serves as a reminder of the essential role these professionals play in supporting vulnerable members of society.
