Home receives award for providing Gold Standard end-of-life care

ETHELDRED House has been awarded a national Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award in recognition of the excellent end-of-life care it provides.

The care home received the award at the GSF annual conference and awards ceremony at East Side Rooms in Birmingham – a celebration of the UK’s exceptional health and social care providers for care in the final year of life.

Etheldred House was one of 172 organisations from across the country receiving the award (139 care homes, one primary care team, 10 domiciliary care agencies, three retirement villages, one prison healthcare team, one hospice team and 17 hospital wards).

General manager Santall Horn said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Quality Hallmark Award at Platinum status.

“I am incredibly proud of our team members, whose commitment to end-of-life care has helped us to achieve this. I was also very proud to see a special mention in the report, which read, ‘Staff are passionate about delivering excellent end of life care’.”

GSF provides end-of-life care training and accreditation for frontline staff in health and social care.
