RESIDENTS at HC-One’s Shelton Lock in Derby are preparing for another exciting stop on their virtual world cruise journey, this time travelling to Germany.
On Friday, January 30 the care home will be transformed into a hub of German culture, offering residents a full day inspired by the traditions, flavours and spirit of Germany.
The immersive experience is part of the home’s ongoing world cruise initiative, designed to bring global cultures to residents in a fun, engaging and inclusive way.
Home manager Nicola Millar said: “Our world cruise activities are a wonderful way to spark conversation, creativity and joy among our residents.
“Many of them love sharing memories of travel and learning about new places, and days like our German-themed celebration really bring the home together.
“It’s all about creating meaningful experiences and making every day special for the people who live here.”
Residents will take part in a range of themed activities celebrating German culture, enjoy traditional-inspired food, and join staff in dressing up to fully embrace the occasion. With passports ready to be stamped, the day promises plenty of smiles, laughter and shared memories.
Shelton Lock’s world cruise has already taken residents to several destinations across the globe, and the German-themed day marks another memorable stop on their journey.
