Home welcomes fun and engaging activities to boost wellbeing

THE residents of Longridge Hall Care Home, part of Sandstone Care, were treated to an exciting day of seated sporting activities as they welcomed the team from Rise.

The Rise franchise, which operates throughout the UK, was co-founded by Rob Oyston.

He came up with the concept for the seated sports programme during his recovery from a life-threatening illness. The sports which have been adapted for various settings, such as care homes, include football, rugby and hockey.

Home manager Tracey Hartley said: “We are passionate about entertaining our residents and boosting their confidence. We achieve this through our regular activities programme.

“It was great to welcome Rise to our home, where their team uses a programme of seated sports. The activities were not only fun but also provided an opportunity for everyone, regardless of ability, to engage in sport and enjoy some friendly competition.”

Longridge Hall offers a wide range of activities designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of its residents.

From craft sessions to unique visits from local businesses like ZooLabs, which brought in snakes and other tropical creatures, the care home is dedicated to keeping residents active and involved in a variety of stimulating experiences.
