Homes achieve accreditation for excellence in end-of-life care

THREE Kent care homes, all part of family-run group Nellsar, have achieved the coveted Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award – national recognition for delivering outstanding, compassionate end-of-life care.

Bromley Park in Bromley, Loose Valley in Maidstone (pictured) and Meyer House in Erith have each successfully completed the GSF accreditation assessment, earning the benchmark award which lasts for the next three years.

Glenda Osmotherly, director of operations at Nellsar, said: “This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our teams.

“The GSF award reflects how exceptionally well-managed these homes are – and, most importantly, the difference that makes to our residents and their loved ones.

“Countless people will benefit from care that is not only clinically skilled but also delivered with empathy, understanding and compassion. What an amazing difference our team members make every day – they should feel extremely proud.”

The homes will formally receive their awards at the GSF Conference and Awards Ceremony on September 26 at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where best practice examples from across the UK will be showcased.

In a letter of congratulations to Nellsar, Julie Armstrong-Wilson, GSF Chief Operating Officer, said: “We would like to congratulate you and the staff on your success and thank you for all the hard work you have put into this.

“We are extremely proud of your achievement and we are sure that this will be of great benefit to you, your residents and all who work in the home.”
