SEVEN Signature Senior Lifestyle care homes across Surrey have carried out widespread fundraising activities and initiatives in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Each home has worked closely with the charity, with the former developing its My Life strategy seeing all those working across Signature’s 36 sites undergoing mandatory dementia training.
Michele Saunders, head of dementia at Signature Senior Lifestyle, said: “Signature Senior Lifestyle and all 36 of our care homes are united with the rest of the world in ensuring people with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis or living with dementia more generally, receive the support they need to live life as independently as possible, for as long as possible.
“Through the variety of activities our homes have been carrying out we have been working to raise important awareness of living with dementia and raising funds to support Alzheimer’s Research UK and their incredibly important work.
“Whilst it is vital that society champions awareness months, weeks and days which are connected to dementia, there needs to be a collective push to drive year-long, year-in and year-out best practice in dementia care.”
Signature at Bagshot, Signature at Camberley, Signature at Coombe Hill Manor, Signature at Esher, Signature at Guildford, Signature at Rosebery Manor and Signature at Weybridge made their respective contributions to the global awareness month, having raised funds and driving awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease.
