Law firm advises on latest South Wales care home deal

CLARKE Willmott LLP has completed on the latest in a series of care home deals for Linc Cymru Housing Association (Linc).

Capel Grange in Newport was sold as part of a strategic divestment of Linc’s care portfolio, with Clarke Willmott providing advice to its long-standing client.

Built in 2009, Capel Grange boasts modern amenities and provides nursing, dementia and respite care for Newport families. The 72-bedroom care home underwent a confidential sales process with Amaya Care Homes completing the acquisition as part of its goal to broaden its quality care services across the region.

Gary Hortop, director of care and support at Linc, said: “I would like to thank the Clarke Willmott team for their support during the sale, which turned out to be a bit more complex than originally anticipated, their resilience, advice and support throughout the process was exceptional.”

The Clarke Willmott team included Kirill Bingham and Catrin Trefor handling corporate matters, Vicky Kells, Scott Keddle and Beckie Herbert advising on property aspects and Chris Connors managing tax matters.

Kirill added: “We were delighted to be involved in this sale and to assist Linc Cymru in the delivery of their strategic goals going forward.

“It was a pleasure to work with Gary Hortop and the team on another transaction and to navigate the deal with Rob Kinsman from Christie & Co.

“We were pleased to be able to draw down on our healthcare and social housing specialisms to achieve a positive result.”
