Love and music fill the air at care home

RESIDENTS at Chatsworth Lodge n Chesterfield enjoyed a heart-warming Valentine’s celebration filled with music, memories and special moments.

Shannon, a local vocalist, treated residents to a nostalgic performance of songs from the 1950s and 60s, with many singing along to every word.

Her rendition of Love Me Tender proved particularly moving, bringing tears to resident Sylvia’s eyes, while fellow resident Valerie’s flawless sing-along had some members of the care team reaching for the tissues too.

To thank Shannon for her wonderful performance, residents presented her with a glass love heart keepsake so she could be their Valentine.

The afternoon was a touching reminder of the powerful connection between music, emotion and memory – and the joy it can bring.

Zenka Shires, home manager at Chatsworth Lodge, said: “It was such a lovely afternoon for everyone.

“Music has an incredible way of bringing back happy memories, and seeing our residents singing, smiling and enjoying themselves together was truly special. Moments like this are what make our home such a warm and happy place to be.”
