A LOWESTOFT care home is hosting a tea party for its residents and the public to help raise money for Dementia UK’s biggest fundraising event of the year.
The Dell, a branch of Wellbeing Care that provides residential, dementia and respite care, is taking part in ‘Time for a Cuppa’ week – Dementia UK’s annual tea party – opening the doors of its multipurpose activity centre for some cake and a brew.
During the first week of May, from 10am to 12pm, the centre, which runs in conjunction with Dell View’s assisted living services, will be bustling with residents and tenants ready to welcome the public to eat, drink, natter, and, most importantly, help to raise vital funds for families facing dementia.
According to Dementia UK, by the time a kettle has boiled, another person will have developed the condition. With rising numbers of families impacted, thousands of people are not getting the support they need.
Fundraising, like ‘Time for a Cuppa’ week, helps the work of Dementia UK’s specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, to provide life-changing advice and support to anyone affected by dementia.
