Music, colour and laughter rules as care home celebrates Pride

NESFIELD Lodge Care Home in Leeds was a sea of colour and fun as it embraced Pride Month – and looks forward to celebrating Leeds Pride next week.

One of 23 care homes operated by Orchard Care Homes across the North of England and Midlands, Nesfield Lodge aims to ensure each and every one of its people maintain independent and active lifestyles through a variety of engaging activities.

The home’s Pride Day went down a storm, starring a DJ playing music from the decade of disco and a chance to become a karaoke star.

The home also had an ice cream van outside, appealing to the inner child of everyone there.

Home manager Sarah Golden-Hill said: “The home was bright with colour, and the fun and laughter was contagious. Everyone had an amazing afternoon and we partied well into the evening.”

Leeds Pride takes place on July 21, kicking off with a parade starting from the Town Hall at noon. There will be several stages in the city centre featuring music and entertainment – stars of the main stage include noughties hitmakers Sonique, Baby D and Alex Party.
