Mystery donor strikes again, gifting residents a Christmas lunch

A MYSTERY donor has once again paid for the residents of Barnes Lodge Care Home in Tonbridge to enjoy a festive feast at their local pub.

The residents were invited to a very special outing at the Cardinals Error courtesy of a very generous local, who paid for the group to enjoy a traditional turkey roast, followed by Christmas pudding, mince pies, coffee and drinks.

And it’s not the first time as the pub regular, who wishes to remain anonymous, did the same at Christmas in 2019. The donor also paid for drinks and snacks when the residents visited the pub for a musical afternoon.

Arriving at the pub, which is just around the corner from the care home, the residents were greeted by Santa and the Tonbridge Rock Choir, as they entered, the tables had been laid especially with festive décor, crackers, and candy canes. The residents were treated to their lunch, followed by a game of bingo.

Nicky Pett, General Manager of Barnes Lodge said: “We are extremely grateful to the donor for this incredible act of kindness at Christmas, particularly as this isn’t the first time.

“It really means so much to the residents and their loved ones to be able to make these special memories, they had such a wonderful afternoon.”
