New chief executive to steer ship through choppy waters

JOHN Pattinson has been announced as the new chief executive of the Independent Care Group with immediate effect.

Since December 2021, John has been the ICG’s Operations Director and prior to that spent many years with the NHS.

ICG chair Mike Padgham said: “We are delighted to appoint John as our new chief executive and look forward to working with him to take the ICG forward and help steer the organisation and its members through what we expect to be the choppy waters of 2023 and beyond.

“John has been an excellent operations director since he joined us and has played a key role in restructuring and growing the ICG in that time. He has a wealth of experience and we are confident he is well positioned to guide us through the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

John’s appointment follows the departure of previous chief executive Nick Swash, who has left the ICG to pursue fresh opportunities.

Mike added: “Nick did a fantastic job for the ICG over the past year, picking up the baton during the back end of the Covid pandemic and providing vital support for members whilst beginning the task of growing and developing the ICG for the future. We thank him for that and wish him every success for the future.

“Nick put in great new foundations for the ICG and we now look forward to John and the team building upon those in the months and years to come.”
