FIVE Oaks care home in Barnet welcomed the clinical team from Enfield Unity Primary Care Network as part of a collaborative initiative to upskill staff and help tackle health inequalities across the district.
During the visit, clinicians from Enfield Unity PCN carried out a series of health checks for care home staff and led informative, practical discussions around key health and wellbeing topics, including mental health support, healthy eating, physical activity, and access to smoking cessation services.
The session aimed to empower staff with the knowledge and confidence to prioritise their own health while continuing to provide care for residents.
The initiative reflects a growing focus on preventative healthcare and supporting frontline care workers, recognising the vital role they play in the wider community.
Rahima Mulindwa, care home manager at Five Oaks, said: “Supporting the wellbeing of our staff is incredibly important to us. It was fantastic to welcome the Enfield Unity PCN team and give our staff the opportunity to access health checks and have open, meaningful conversations about their health.
“Initiatives like this not only benefit our staff but ultimately enhance the care we provide to our residents.”
The visit was warmly received by staff at Five Oaks and highlights the positive impact of partnership working between primary care services and local care providers in Barnet and Enfield.
