ASHMEAD Care Centre in Putney is welcoming the local MP and wider community for an open day showcasing refurbished facilities and offering free treatments in its new wellbeing suite.
The Care Centre, part of the Maria Mallaband Care Group, is hosting the open event on January 23 from 11am to 3pm to celebrate the completion of a five-month refurbishment project enhancing living spaces and facilities at the home, which specialises in nursing and dementia care.
Completed in December, the upgrade includes a bespoke reception with a café and seating area, a new nursing unit and a luxury private dementia unit, alongside renovations to hallways, dining rooms, lounges, and the terrace and outdoor spaces.
A key part of the work was the development of a lifestyle suite, with a hair salon and a new wellness room offering classes and treatments including yoga and massages to those living in the home.
The open day will give local residents, families of those living in the home, professionals and anyone interested in learning more the opportunity to experience the new facilities.
Guests, including Fleur Anderson, MP for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields, will be given a tour of the salon, where mini treatments and manicures will be of offer on the day. Free yoga and mindfulness sessions will also be running in the wellness room.
The open day will also see the launch of a new partnership with Hair Angels, a specialist dementia-friendly hairdressing service, which will visit Ashmead’s salon twice weekly going forward, offering hairdressing to those living in the home and the wider community too.
