Provider’s events raise more than £1,200 for charity

BLUEBIRD Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell has raised more than £1,200 for the Alzheimer’s Society through a series of community events – with fundraising efforts continuing in the lead-up to a charity sky dive where team members will take to the skies to support the cause.

The campaign began with a fundraising party at Coronation Hall in Woodley, which brought together Bluebird Care customers, carers, families and residents for an afternoon of music, food, and fun – raising £952.74.

Entertainment was provided by DJ Bryan, one of Bluebird Care’s care assistants, while food came courtesy of Spud Nan – a familiar face in the local community. Cakes were donated by the Homemade Cake Company.

The team also hosted a charity coffee morning at Crayshaw Court in Caversham – a retirement living community where several Bluebird Care customers reside.

The event offered a warm, welcoming space for residents, families and carers to enjoy coffee, conversation, and homemade bakes. All cakes were made by the Bluebird Care office team. The event raised £200.

Rebecca Hawkins, managing director of Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell, said: “Dementia touches the lives of so many people we care for, and we’re proud to support the Alzheimer’s Society through our continued fundraising efforts.

“From our customers and carers to families, office staff and community partners – everyone has come together to make a difference. These events have raised vital funds, but they’ve also created opportunities for joy, connection and community, which are just as important.

“This campaign has been a beautiful reminder of the importance of coming together, sharing stories, and supporting each other for our mental health and wellbeing.”
