Residents celebrate Afternoon Tea Week

RESIDENTS of Rogers House proved you can have your cake and eat it as they enjoyed a special high tea in celebration of Afternoon Tea Week.

The outing was the icing on the cake for residents of the Wigmore care home as they headed out to their local garden centre to experience one of the nation’s favourite pastimes, afternoon tea.

The residents visited Dobbies, which is just a short drive from the home, where they were treated to towering stands filled with finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a variety of sweet treats.

Activity coordinator Hannah Newman-Brown said: “We sometimes have afternoon tea at Rogers House and the residents always really enjoy it, so Afternoon Tea Week seemed like perfect occasion to celebrate and go out somewhere nice.

“The residents had a lovely afternoon and are hoping they can go back soon.”
